A Bristol family say they had to wait 45 minutes before an ambulance arrived to treat their 5 year old son.
On Saturday night at about 9 'O' Clock, Anne Palmer says her son, who suffers with cerebal palsey, started to fit.
When she dialled 999 the control room told her an ambulance wasn't needed and they put her through to NHS Direct.
Eventually an ambulance did arrive but Anne says the confusion was frustrating and she was passed between the ambulance control room and NHS Direct several times.
Great Western Ambulance service say they'll be carrying out a full investigation into the Palmer's 999 call and they're sorry the family didn't feel they received a good level of service on Saturday night.
