Bangladesh stuns England to take their first victory.
Gloucestershire's County Ground became a venue for cricketing history on Saturday when Bangladesh recorded their first ever victory over England in any form of the game.
A crowd of just under 10,000 saw Andrew Strauss's team suffer a shock defeat in a dramatic match many will long remember.
The sight of Ian Bell hobbling out to bat with a broken foot for the final over with England needing just ten to win created an extraordinary finish and the target had been reduced to six when Jonathan Trott was last man out for 94.
When he was caught behind the Bangladesh team celebrated their first victory of the year, ending a losing streak of 24 games.
Gloucestershire chief executive Tom Richardson admitted it was not the result he had been anticipating, but praised both sides for producing a such an absorbing contest.
He said "The crowd figure compared very well with other venues where Bangladesh have played and we didn't put as many stands in place as we might have done so the ground looked full and colourful.
"Of course, the vast majority of spectators wanted to see England win, but we were all treated to a marvellous game and all credit to Bangladesh.€
As far as the staging of the game was concerned, Richardson admitted that not all had gone totally to plan. Some spectators were guilty of going onto the playing area, despite countless warnings over the tannoy.
"We always learn from these occasions and that was the case again,€ he said. "A lot of things did go just as we wanted and we will review those that didn't carefully as we always do.€
"It was a good cricket wicket,€ said Richardson. "There was something in it for the bowlers and the batsmen had to play well to score runs.
"No one played better than Trott and it was sad to see him out right at the end. But it was a fantastic day for Bangladesh and a good one for our club, even if the result was not as we wanted.€
