Stokes Croft Resident In Court Over "Welcome" Sign

A man who painted a sign welcoming people to Stokes Croft is due before Bristol Magistrates today, charged with criminal damage.

Chris Chalkley, who is the Chairman of the "People's Republic of Stokes Croft", put up the placard on the 5102 building.

It is claimed he caused damage of between £150 and £200.

He has pleaded not guilty and is due at Bristol Magistrates Court this morning.
